Diskashur DT2 256-BIT FIPS 12TB in short:
- Hardware AES-XTS 256-bit encryption with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification, intended to protect sensitive archives and regulated data.
- Front-mounted PIN keypad and smart card reader for direct, software-free access control, with automatic lockout on attack attempts.
- Plug-and-play, platform-independent design compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and server or embedded systems.
- USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB-A) connection and external power adapter to maintain sustained transfer rates when moving multi-gigabyte backups and large media files.
- Note: this is a desktop-focused external HDD, so it is heavier and requires an external power adapter compared with portable SSDs.
Secure hardware encryption for sensitive data
The Diskashur DT2 uses a dedicated secure microprocessor and hardware encryption so all data is encrypted in real time before it leaves the drive. You unlock the device using a 7 to 15 digit PIN on the built-in keypad or by using the smart card reader. The drive features tamper-resistant protection and an automatic lockout that helps defend against physical attacks and unauthorised access.
Practical performance and compatibility
Because the drive is software-free, you can plug it into any device with a USB port and begin working immediately. That makes it suitable for migrating large datasets, maintaining encrypted backups, or transporting regulated records between locations. Measured read and write speeds support efficient transfer of multi-terabyte files, and the included external power adapter keeps performance consistent during prolonged use.
Built for secure deployment and easy management
The aluminium housing, LED indicators, Kensington lock slot and supplied carrying case make the Diskashur DT2 practical for office and field use where physical security matters. It holds multiple compliance certifications to support procurement requirements and includes a user guide and a three-year warranty to simplify deployment and support. Without the correct PIN or authorised smart card, the drive remains inaccessible.
